Founded in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars as part of the '67 expansion, the Dallas Stars moved to Texas in 1993. In the 1978-79 NHL season, the North Stars merged with the Clevland Barons, as both teams were struggling financially. The franchise has been to the finals five times, with the Stars lifting The Cup in '98-'99 season (as of 2023).
